GERD / Acid Reflux Recipes (heartburn, Gastroesophageal reflux disease, acid reflux disease)

All of the recipes on Gluten Free / Dairy Free NJ are already tomato free and (mostly) citrus fruit free due to my inability to consume highly acidic foods. I have found a number of people with GERD interested in my tomato free recipes. Since I am not an expert on GERD issues (nor am I a doctor) please take care before trying any of these recipes to make sure I haven’t made a mistake somewhere. The list below includes suggestions and less common triggers that you may or may not want to exclude depending on your specific diet.

Vegan Alfredo Sauce (for Fettuccine Alfredo, et al)

Arroz con Pollo (Chicken and Rice) [exclude garlic, onions and/or alcohol if needed; replace tomato paste with red pepper paste or exclude]

Vegan Baked Ziti [tomato free sauce only, omit garlic powder if needed]

Black Bean Quinoa Salad [omit red onion, scallion and/or lime juice if needed.]

Dairy Free Chicken Alfredo [omit onion if needed]

Chicken Cacciatore [omit garlic, onions and/or wine as needed.]

Gravy [omit black pepper as needed.]

Jambalaya [tomato free sauce only, omit onions, garlic, and cayenne as needed.  Check ingredients on Andoulli sausage.]

Vegan Lasagna [tomato free sauce only, omit garlic powder if needed]

Dairy Free Mashed Potatoes

Meatballs [omit onion as needed. Use extremely low fat ground meat. Bake or boil, don't fry.]

Pasta/Spaghetti Sauce (without Tomato) [omit onions, garlic, and/or lemon juice as needed.]

Vegan Stuffed Shells [tomato free sauce only, omit garlic powder if needed]

Stuffing [omit onion and black pepper as needed]

Swedish Meatballs [omit onions if needed. Use extremely low fat ground beef/meat.]
